| Hey everyone!!!
I cannot even believe that Jaina is here! It is amazing! She decided to come into the world 2 weeks early.
Her Stats @ Birth:
Born November 22nd@ 12:24am 8lb 6oz and 20 1/2 inches long
So let's start with Thursday afternoon. I had my 38 week doctor's appointment. Everything went really well. Hemphill said that Jaina was right on track for her due date and also she told me that I was 1.5 centimeters dialated. I just thought to myself, "well.... looks like we are still looking at December 6th." I also asked her how big she thought Jaina was and she said she was probably pushing close to 8lbs already.
I went home and called family and a few friends to share the news. December 6th Here we come!!
Well, Friday morning started out normal as can be. I woke up around 6am...went to the washroom... turned on the shower to get the water to the perfect temperature... decided I wanted some juice to drink before I showered.... and then things turned a little weird... I went over to the fridge, grabbed the juice, grabbed a cup, set everything on the counter and then... BAM! My water broke... Just like in the movies... I could not even believe it... I felt like I was having one of my crazy pregnancy dreams, but not this time. Funny thing is that in my head I was thanking God for letting my water break on our laminent floor and not in our bed or somewhere that something could have been ruined.. haha.
I jumped in the shower and then as soon as I got out, I woke Jake up and told him the news. "Jake... I need you to wake up" Reply "Why?" "My water just broke and we need to get over to the hospital" "Are you lying?" "No, come on let's go!"
So we proceeded to run around the house like mad people, trying to get everything together. Mind you... This saturday November 22nd was supposed to be our day to pack our hospital bags, finish setting up Jaina' room, put the car seat in the car..etc. Well, that left us to pack our bags, just throw the car seat and base in the car and of course I finished doing my hair and make up so we could leave.. haha
On the way to the hospital and while we were there, we were in a mad rush to try and call as many friends and family as we could to tell them the good news. We also had to call work to let them know why we wouldn't be there on Friday.
Once we checked in, Jake pushed me in a wheelchair up to the room I would be put in. They hooked me up to an IV, put a blood pressure cuff on me and started asking me a slew of questions for my admission.
The day progressed just fine. When I arrived, they told me that I was 2cm dialated. They put me on pitocin in order to get my contractions regulated and to also intensify them... (thats what I wanted to hear.. haha)
By the time I hit 4cm, the contractions were starting to really hurt, so I took some pain medication through my IV in order to take the edge off the pain. Then when I hit 5cm and closer to 6cm I decided to have the epidural. (piece of cake)
All during this time our friends and family started showing up to wish us luck and give any support we needed.
6,7,& 8cm came and went. The nurse had me laying in all different positions to get things rolling quickly.
9cm came and then closer to 10cm but there was still a little bit of my cervix left that was in the way. The decision was that I would start pushing. The pushing itself was not painful at all. Then after about an hour of pushing it was decided that I would "rest" for a while (most painful thing ever) and then we pushed again for another hour. After all that work it was decided that Jaina was to big to fit through my pelvic bone so it was time for a C-section. Definitely not what I had imagined, but it went very well!!
Jake got all scrubbed up to go into the surgery room with me. They put me on the table and pumped me up with pain meds so that I would not feel a thing. I didn't even know the doctors started until they were telling me that I would feel a lot of pressure and the next thing I knew, Jaina was born!! They finished out the surgery and let me catch a glimpse of our precious girl before wisking her off to the room.
I was able to get settled back into the room and fed Jaina for the first time.
Then it was time to let the Grandparents in to see her. They were in LOVE.
Next came the awesome new uncles! They also fell in LOVE.
Then the rest of the group was able to come in and you guessed it......they fell in love!
The next three days were rough. No sleep, stitches to worry about, pain meds etc.
Monday rolled around and it was Home time!! Wahoo. We were so happy and stared packing immediately.
We left the hospital and arrived at home a little after noon.
It was a rough first day, but Jaina was amazing last night. She is a very content baby. Love her!!
Well that is all for now.
Pictures to come!!!

| Well everyone.... I am still alive! I haven't posted on here in almost a year! I am a slacker.
Hope everyone is doing well! I miss hearing from all of you.
For those of you who may not have heard.... Jake and I are having a little baby girl!! I am due on December 6th (Dan Stanley's B-day). We just decided on her name last weekend. Her name is Jaina Marie Arthur. (Said Jay-na)
We cannot wait for her to get here. Yes.... those of you thinking it.... it is really fast. The Lord had a different plan for us than what we thought, but we are super excited and can't wait for her to be here.
She is already a spoiled girl. The minute I found out that we were having a girl I went out shopping and bought her some clothes. I hadn't been looking at anything yet, so it was exciting to go to the store and start picking out things for the nursery.
My theme is the color of her room. I am going with Chocolate brown and Pink with polka dots and stripes.
Jake and I are doing really well! He is in Tennessee right now with Dan. They are in a wedding this weekend. I have been relaxing and cleaning the apartment to keep myself busy. I miss my hubby being here.
Well, I must get back to cleaning, but I promise I will be on here more often.
Love you all!!!!

| I am way overdue for a posting on here!!!! Well, I am LOVING married life!!! Jake is so fabulous and he does things everyday that remind me of why I love him so much!! The first week seemed kind of crazy becuase I hadn't gone back to work yet. I felt like a suzie homemaker lol. It felt like I was playing house all week! Now it is really starting to feel like HOME! I put up fall decorations around the house. That is helping it to feel more homey. Our rug and coffee/end tables will be delivered on the 24th! We can't wait! That will definitely make it look more complete in here. Right now it looks a little goofy with a piano bench as our coffee table. We want to thank everyone for coming to the wedding!!!! We had such an amazing time and loved every minute of it. We loved seeing everyones smiling faces, some that we hadn't seen in quite a long time!! I have been looking for a full time job since just before we got married. Today the Lord answered our prayers and provided me with an amazing customer service position at a company called Access Electronics. For those of you who know him, I will be working with Matt Teck's dad!! So cool. Here is a link to the company for your viewing pleasure. I told Christin that I feel a lot like her now working at a very manly company. Go check it out!! http://www.aei-america.com/ The Lord has blessed us in so many ways!!! We just thank Him continuously and wait to see what the future holds for us. I love you all and hope you have a great week!!!! *Angie Arthur* | | |
